Roughly the size
How big the room is, near enough. Paced out is fine — it does not have to be measured.
What is there now
What is on the surface at the moment: bare brick, old plaster, Artex, plasterboard or something else.
Repair or whole room
Whether it is a patch repair after other work, or a full room to be plastered out.
Other trades
Whether anyone else is working in the room — electrics, plumbing, joinery — and whether they have finished.
A few photos
Photos of the walls and ceiling say more than a description. A few is usually enough to get started.

- Yes. Tell us what needs doing and you will get a free quote, either from your photos or by us coming out to price the job up in person.
- Will I know the price before work starts?
- Yes, we agree what needs doing, the price and the timing before anyone picks up a trowel.
- Do you cover my area?
We are based in Askern and cover Doncaster and its villages, including Bentley, Adwick le Street, Carcroft, Armthorpe, Thorne, Mexborough and Conisbrough.
We also work in Rotherham, Barnsley, Wakefield, Sheffield, Leeds, York, Worksop, Pontefract, Castleford, Selby and Goole. Anywhere else, ring and ask — jobs further afield are considered case by case.
- What affects the price?
- Mainly the size of the job, what is on the surface now and how much preparation it needs. A sound wall that only needs skimming is a different job to one taken back to brick, which is why photos help us quote.
