Here is what each of the seven jobs involves, and when you would want it.
Fresh plaster onto bare brick, block or stripped walls and ceilings. This is the job when the old plaster has blown and come off, when an opening has been knocked through, or when a room has been taken back to nothing.
A thin coat of finish plaster over a surface that is already sound. It takes out the ripples, old patches and tired texture, so the wall reads flat under the light instead of showing every bump.
Plasterboard fixed to studwork, battens or straight onto masonry to form a new surface. It is how a new stud wall, boxed-in pipework or a lined-out old wall gets its face before it is finished.
Textured ceilings and walls brought back flat. The pattern is covered over and plastered across rather than scraped off, so you end up with a plain surface instead of swirls and points.
Smaller repairs where plaster has been broken out — a wall chased for cables, a radiator or socket moved, a door handle put through it. The damage is cut back, filled and finished so it sits level with the wall around it.
Plastering carried out as part of an insurance claim — walls and ceilings put back after a leak, a burst pipe or a fire. Tell us what needs putting right and we will quote the plastering to match. Send us the details and we will take it from there.
Render onto the outside of a house, an extension or a garden wall. It goes on over brick or block to give a flat, even face that can be painted or left as it is, and it takes the weather instead of the masonry behind it.
